Mashable’s Jennifer Van Grove posted today about an iPhone application made by Tiger Beer that helps UK users enjoy their cities more. Its primary function is to point users to nearby locations that they can purchase and consume Tiger Beer. Users point their camera at the street and directions are superimposed on the picture.
The app is purely a marketing tool of the Singapore-based beer company, but it uses the normal Around Me app creatively for marketing purposes.
The mobile phone can be a great venue to engage supporters in their everyday life – though the potential is mostly untapped by nonprofits. The best apps provide tools and information that comes in handy for everyday life, such as the Monterey Day Aquarium’s Seafood Watch app.
